Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor, popular for his roles in well-known the television show Law and Order Special Victims Unit. In college, he began to develop an interest in acting. In his school, the University of Colorado at Boulder, he studied acting. He's been featured in the television and film industry, but the small screen characters that brought him fame and huge fan following. His ability to play characters from both sides of the law has captured the attention of viewers. He played the part of a serial killer in the first TV series he appeared in but later went on to play the role that of an NYPD detective. He's been nominated numerous times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his smaller screen acting performances. The most appealing feature of his face is believed to be his piercing blue eyes that have been deemed to be a signature and has helped in portraying characters who are rough and flamboyant. His name was included in the People's Magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
